Brian is accepting new clients.
Brian grew up in Maryland and moved to Mt. Juliet in 2017. Much of his youth and early adulthood was spent on athletic fields playing lacrosse, soccer, and basketball. Summers always included extended time at the beaches of the Outer Banks and out on the Chesapeake Bay, where he developed a lasting appreciation for calm, reflection, and the serenity of a sunrise over the ocean—experiences that continue to shape his outlook on life and his presence in the therapy room.
Brian earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!). Before entering the counseling profession, he spent over two decades in insurance and financial services, including owning and operating his own business.
Through his own life experiences, Brian saw firsthand the profound impact that a supportive, authentic therapeutic relationship can have. That insight inspired him to pursue counseling as a way to help others navigate their stories with compassion, clarity, and a renewed sense of possibility.
Brian works primarily with pre-teens through adult clients, especially those navigating anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, perfectionism, self-worth struggles, and patterns of emotional avoidance or self-criticism. Many of his clients are working to reconnect with themselves, make sense of painful experiences, and build lives aligned with their values.
Clinically, Brian practices from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) foundation, helping clients cultivate psychological flexibility, mindfulness, and values-based action. He is EMDR Trained and integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to meet each client’s unique needs. His approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in empathy, self-awareness, and genuine human connection.
Outside the therapy room, Brian enjoys traveling and exploring new places with his wife and two children. He finds distance running deeply grounding, loves photography, cooking, and the connection that comes from sharing a meal with family and friends. Most weekends, he can be found spending time with his family and three dogs.
